First of all, I do agree with the opinion that Generative AI such as images, videos, audios are great productivity improvement and technology revolution. And I do think that at least part of the Human Painter's job opportunities will be influenced. AI Painting are great in several aspects: 1. Fantasy and Cartoon Style Images. These Images doesn't necessarily follow the realism such as architecture, product design, etc. And we can see that most of the generated images are in these categories, and have wide applications in Gaming UX Designer, Cartoon Movies Making, etc. 2. Productivity Improvement. AI Image Generator (such as Midjourney, Stable Diffusion) can generate the images in a few minutes, and with some minor modifications of hands, hairs, using controlnet, you can easily get production-worthy images or designs. It will be much cheaper than hiring human designer to do the same work, which is much slower and cost more. Cons: I also agree that as of now, AI generated Images still replies on large training corpus of multi-modal text-images. And for realistic type of artistic works, such as architecture, 3D modeling, it will not perform better than human artists if there are few corpus at least for now. Besides, I also attach some of fantasy and cartoon style pictures generated by AI. They are pretty awesome.
