Today is Aug 30th 2004 and GPT-5 is still delayed. Rumors said that OpenAI will release Strawberry model (Q*) and Orion model early next year in 2025. If they delay and miss the date again, I will immediately subscribe Google Gemini/Claude and abandon ChatGPT.

My prediction of GPT-5 major abilities on Aug 2024. Why hasn't OpenAI released their GPT-5 model? I will leave my predictions of major GPT 5 features compared to previous version of GPT-4,GPT-4o. Here are my predicted GPT-5 abilities: 1. Multimodal ability improvement: Supporting better image, audio and video generation (fix the hands problems, longer video clip length, etc.) 2. Extremely long context of Transformer based model: The number of tokens supported 3. Much larger model sizes and capacity: A few hundreds B parameters, compared to previous versions of GPT-4,GPT-4o 4. Realtime searching enhancement, maybe similar to SearchGPT and Perplexity 5. Intelligence Improvement: Be able to achieve the goal of the job replacement of basic jobs such as writing reports and drawing, etc. 6 Large step towards artificial general intelligence (AGI) 7.Stronger Intelligence Alignment Performance: Maybe Q* robotic style intelligence will actually shock human beings?

We are seeing more applications of robotaxi and self-driving vehicles worldwide. Many large companies such as Waymo, Tesla and Baidu are accelerating their speed of robotaxi deployment in multiple cities. Some human drivers especially cab drivers worry that they will lose their jobs due to AI. They argue that the lower operating cost and AI can work technically 24 hours a day without any rest like human will have more competing advantage than humans. What do you think?
